Our Founder's Latest Go-To Pocket Knife: Learn Why She Loves the Gerber Paraframe Mini

It's small, sharp, and seriously comfortable. See why our founder loves the Gerber Paraframe Mini.

As woman who’s spent her entire life in male-dominated fields, I’ve learned a thing or two about tools and gear.

I've been wrenching in motorsports for over a decade.

I'm nearing my fifth year in the firearms industry.

I've hiked more trails across the U.S. than I can count.

And through it all, one thing I never compromise on is a good pocket knife.

I’ve tested out countless pocket knives over the years, but I’ve always struggled with the same problem: finding one that fits comfortably in my pocket. Us ladies know the struggle of tight, tiny, impractical pockets in women’s clothing. I don't know why clothing designers think women have no need for practical pockets.

For most average-sized pocket knives, bending down or squatting usually causes them to dig into my hip or start sliding out of my pocket altogether. And I definitely don’t want that happening on the side of a mountain mid-hike!

When I came across the Gerber Paraframe Mini, I’ll admit, I was skeptical. At first glance, it looked more like a cute trinket than a serious tool. It’s so small, it doesn’t even have a thumb stud or flipper. It’s 100% manual and opens with a nail nick recess on the side of the blade. The gear snob in me wanted to turn my nose up to it so fast it’d break my neck.

But something happened when I put that little knife in my pocket and went about my day.

…I forgot about it. Completely.

In fact, I couldn’t find it for days because it was so low-profile that I didn’t even notice it was still in my shorts pocket until I put them on again later that week. It’s that comfortable.

It doesn’t jab into my hip when I bend down or crouch. The lack of a flipper means there’s nothing poking out to create discomfort. The secure clip keeps it firmly in place, so it’s always right where I left it. Even if I don’t remember exactly where that is. 😅

I’m not usually one to go for “gender-specific” gear, but I have to admit: having a pocket knife that actually works with women’s clothing is a game-changer. The Paraframe Mini may be small, but it’s ready to work right out the box.

Now this lil guy is a go-to for me. If you’re a fellow lady looking for a pocket knife that fits seamlessly into your EDC loadout without the usual bulk, give the Gerber Paraframe Mini a try.
